The Kahlo Spreads
Kahlo spreads are built around psychological frameworks like Jungian archetypes and Internal Family Systems.
At Verenatarot, we still read with the core traditional spreads — single card, three card, and Celtic Cross. But the true power of the Kahlo Method is grounded in the tight relationship between our spreads and the psychological frameworks they tie to. Our six unique spreads are shown below — click any one to explore it.
The Kahlo Method's essential movement — surface to depth to wisdom — in its most concentrated form. Brief, but never shallow: three cards that still move from what you're consciously aware of, through what's operating underneath, to the message you most need to hear.
A map of the psychology of change itself — not the situation before or after, but the liminal space of the crossing. It surfaces the real obstacle, which is almost always an identity you're being asked to release rather than a circumstance.
An archaeological descent — from a repeating surface pattern down to the original wound and the armor built to survive it, then back up through the cost of that armor to a path toward healing.
A reading for what happens between two people. Mirrored columns — you on the left, the other on the right — make the projections visible: the unowned material each person casts onto the other, and what the relationship could become once it's seen.
The flagship spread — a Jungian mandala that spirals inward from the mask you show the world to the Self at the center. The layout isn't decorative; it is the psychology, mapping identity and the lifelong movement toward wholeness.
The largest spread, built on Internal Family Systems. Nine cards in three concentric rings map your inner system of parts — the wounded Exile, the proactive Manager, the reactive Firefighter — around the undamaged Self at the center, and outward to the path of integration.
